You attempt to fight the T-rex by kicking it in the shin. The T-rex collapses but destroys the time machine in the process. You cook up the T-rex and survive off of it for 3 months, the latter 2 months in the form of Tyrannosaurus jerky. You also begin writing notes in its bones for archeologists to find later. They never do.
